The village of Kalamaki is situated on the southern side of Crete, 65Km southwest of the city of Heraklion between Timpaki and Moires.It was built in the 1980s but the fist houses were built in the 1960s. Far away from mass-tourism, Kalamaki maintains it's unique traditional character.
Along a beautiful sandy beach, dotted with taverns in this ideal setting, our village provides everything needed for unique, relaxing holidays, in a quiet and accomodating atmosphere.
The beautiful sandy coast which characterizes the village of Kalamaki, is exactly opposite the village, and extends along the Coast of the Messara. Here there are also protected areas which host the endangered sea-turtles Kareta Kareta.
Komos Beach can be found just a few metres away from Kalamaki. This is one of the few renowned nudist beaches.
